The Hoot! at The Beat Coffeehouse on April 2, 2009 featuring Jim Walsh, Brianna Lane and Cahalan David Morrison now on tour as The Harbor Collective, John Munson and
Matt Wilson of Twilight Hours, Chelsea Z, Chris Koza, and Larry Long, with special appearances by The Ultan Sisters, and Rick Robot.
It was another great Hootenanny with several surprise guests. John Munson and Matt Wilson were on hand to play a few songs before their gig at the Nomad. Their band The Twilight Hours will be playing every Thursday in April at the Nomad. John and Matt are extremely talented musicians and you should catch them at the Nomad at least one Thursday this month- definitely worthwhile. Chris Koza, another great local talent, stopped by mid-hoot to share a few songs and will be playing the Halloween Alaska CD Release party at First Avenue Friday April 10, 2009. Accomplished singer-songwriter Larry Long joined the Hoot this night as well. Described as “a true American troubadour” by Studs Terkel, Larry Long is a Smithsonian Folkways Recordings Artist, the Founder of “Elders Wisdom, Childrens Songs,” and the Executive Director of Community Celebration of Place. Larry will also be performing in Pete Seeger’s 90th Birthday Celebration on May 3, 2009 in Madison Square Garden along with Bruce Springsteen, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Michael Franti, Billy Bragg, Taj Mahal and more.
Slideshow set to Larry Long’s “Chickee Chickee Boom.”
