Dark Horse Revue - A Tribute to George Harrison

Friday night found me at the Varsity Theater for the Dark Horse Revue - A Tribute to George Harrison. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect that night, other than a LOT of fun as is always the case when I hang out with my friends Janey and Christian.
It turned out to be a great night. All of the performances were great. Janey has an amazing voice and great stage presence. I was taken aback by the intense look Christian was throwing at her. I thought he might actually pull her right off of the stage. I loved it. The chemistry these two have together is palpable. They are one of the coolest couples (and parents) that I know. They prove that you can be grown-ups, great parents AND still be fun, bad-ass, rock’n'roll awesome people.
Adam Levy was fantastic and the “wall of percussion” during some of the songs was a lot of fun- they all had great energy. There was one point in the show that Jim Walsh rushed the stage yelling “I love you guys!” if that gives you an idea of the kind of night it was. Dave Campbell was rocking the cowboy look. His performance was solid and I was especially grateful for the introduction to late-night post-Varsity college pizza that he provided to all of us. There was only one casualty for the night….Janey’s toe which was re-broken during some wild dance moves during the set.
